house rules at transition living centers
Transition Living Centers Recovery Residences provide a clean and supportive environment where men, seeking to transition to a clean and sober lifestyle, can find a bridge to long-term recovery with others on the same journey. As a resident in our community, you are expected to follow House Rules:
Expectations:
There is a zero-tolerance policy for using alcohol or drugs. Should a resident choose to drink or drug, he will be asked to leave immediately.
Residents are expected to establish and pursue individual goals for their recovery plan.
Residents are required to attend 12-step meetings, get a sponsor, work steps and participate in a home group outside of the house to enhance their integration with the broader recovery community.
A curfew is in place for all residents and is lessened on a merit basis with time.
Residents are expected to attend in-house 12-step meetings which enhance their living experience and help to develop stronger relationships with their housemates.
Mandatory house meetings are held each week where we will review any concerns, issues or opportunities to improve the overall recovery experience for each resident.
Drug and alcohol testing will be conducted regularly and randomly. This is a requirement of the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) Certification to assure that our residents are alcohol and drug-free.
Major infractions, such as altercations, fighting, theft, criminal activities, threats or violence, will result in immediate dismissal.
Non-payment of rent, without an approved extension from the Certified Recovery Residence Administrator, will result in dismissal.
Personal Living:
Residents are expected to keep their room and personal space clean and orderly.
All beds must be made daily, prior to leaving the house.
Household cleaning chores will be assigned, weekly and residents are responsible for their chores on a daily basis.
Residents are expected to work together to maintain and improve the household.
If you smoke, you must smoke outside of the home, in the designated smoking area. Ashtrays should be cleaned and emptied before retiring.
Dishes must be washed and put away immediately after use.
Residents are always expected to clean up after themselves in the common areas.
Every resident at Transition Living Centers is entitled to their own space, boundaries, and privacy, and will be treated with respect and dignity.
